Today's Flowers #48: Lace-Capped Hydrangea

Hydrangea macrophylla normalis also knows as Lace-Capped Hydrangea or simply as lacecap. It is as easy to grow as the traditional mopheads on Cape Cod. They are just starting to come into flower this week. The leaves can easily have rust spots when it gets rain, otherwise it is quite a joy and easy task to photograph it.

I've heard of it but never seen it. It indeed looks like lace.

Beautiful! I think I saw this type of hydrangea at one of the southern state botanical gardens. I remember falling in love with it. Great photo which and I thank you for sharing it.

As a child my family spent several summers on the cape camping.near Provincetown. We only stopped going when my ad decided a cottage in Ontario. I remember it fondly

What a gorgeous flower! I enlarged the photo to see the lovely lacy detail.

thanks! The photographs are probably better because I splurged my saved wages on a digital SLR. I'm also a lot less stressed, as in the last few months the school I was working for became even more disorganised than it was before, and we found it very difficult to find out what was going on, or get help with things.
I love the colour of this flower, think it'd make a great inspriation for a dress!

That is something I have never seen here - although I should very much like to.

Hello again!
A couple of times Today's Flowers have experienced that the guest friend has forgotten to make an entry on their guest day. That is why we have decided to ask for an e-mail adress from each one. Can you please send me your e-mail, and I will remind you when it is your turn. My e-mail adress: cissom@hotmail.com. And please tell me which name you have on your blog!

Have a nice week!
