ABC Wednesday: D is for Dragonfly from My Sister's Garden

As I was on my way from Taiwan to Cape Cod.  I stopped by my sister's home in New Jersey for a few days.  The weather was very nice.  I photographed this dragonfly in her garden.  I have not be able to find the scientific name of it yet.

A simply stunning shot - I agree with the previous comment - worthy of entry to a competition

You may want to go here -this has an abundance of info on dragonflies - perhaps if you sent them the phot they could tell you what type it is.

Beautiful -- every bit as much dragon as fly. :-)

Wow, what a great shot! It sort of looks like grill marks on the wings. Maybe it's a 'Sirloin' dragonfly. ;)

Oh wow! I'm sorry I missed this way back during D week, because I adore dragonflies and this is a spectacular photo of one! I love how nonchalant you are about getting this capture - dragonflies are so hard to photograph well since they flit about so! Pat yourself on a back for this great photo! :-)
