Today's Flowers #29: Cosmos

If you look at the map of Southern Taiwan, there are two mountain ridges.  The Central Mountains goes from northern tip to the southern tip of Taiwan.  The Costal Mountains are at the southeast side.  Between the two mountains is the East Rift Valley.  It is a rich agriculture area.  During our last weekend's trip circulating Taiwan, we passed through a portion of the East Rift Valley.  In some areas, the rice fields have been converted to flower beds and planted sea of cosmos.

The major agriculture of the area is rice and fruits.  This is the rice field with the moutain ridge at the back drop.  It produces the best rice in Taiwan.

No, they are not rice farmers, they are pineapple farmers from whom we bought fresh pineapples at the roadside stand.

This is a young fruit of pineapple .
